4.0 out of 5 starsNear perfect top-tier mouse
Reviewed in Singapore on 29 December 2020
This is my review after using the viper ultimate for about a year - coming from a Logitech G703 previously. I pay a lot of attention to tiny details about mice and my perspective is from that of a heavy competitive mouse user.

Mouse buttons/Clicks: 8.5/10
One thing I particularly hated with mice I’ve used in the past is the fact that they all use mechanical switches, which eventually start showing double-click issues due to debounce and wear and tear. The VU will no longer have that problem (supposedly) as it uses optical switches.
The trade off is that the buttons feel less crisp, like there is some post-travel after the click. Also, not sure if this is a common issue but my mouse buttons seem to be ‘grinding’ on the plastic shell of the VU and you can hear a sound of it when you depress the button slowly (not an issue when clicking normally)

Scroll Wheel: 8/10
Nothing much to say about the scroll wheel. It functions as it should. It’s not as great as a SteelSeries Rival 610, but it doesn’t feel as rigid between steps like the original DeathAdder I have used in the past. One thing I have noticed is that it ‘rattles’ a bit more when scrolling up than down but I’m guessing it’s just a wear and tear issue.

Shape & Body: 9/10
It’s an ambidextrous mouse and is fairly low in height. The ‘bump’ on the mouse is slightly towards the center-back of the mouse. I mainly use palm and claw grip about 60/40% of the time respectively and have no issues with the shape. The ambidextrous shape also didn’t give me any issues gripping the mouse as there is a rubberized surface on the sides. Grip is entirely preference-based so go with what you think is suitable for you. There is a small tear in the rubber grip but that is due to me putting a lot of force and accidentally cutting it while cleaning. Also, I am right handed and the side buttons on my ring/pinky finger side have never once been accidentally pressed.

Tracking & Weight: 10/10
These are the things the VU excels at. The tracking is as expected from a top tier mouse with one of the best sensors. No issues even after playing countless hours on FPS games (I play on a low sens so I do a lot of mouse movement). The weight is incredibly light as well. Coming from a G703 which weighs at around 90-100g, the weight difference was immediately noticeable and your wrist/arm will thank you for less fatigue over longer gaming sessions.

Charging dock: 7/10
This is one of the add-ons that the VU is actually pretty neat to have. The fact that you can seamlessly place it on the dock to start charging after use is so handy when you don’t have to fiddle with cables into a small jack on the mouse. The dock is also angled and makes the VU appear aesthetic when charging, almost like a display piece similar to the Mamba Wireless.
A major drawback of this is the two charging pins on the dock that lose connectivity over time. Apparently, this is a common issue all VU users encounter where the dock seemingly stops charging the mouse. After playing around with it, it appears that the connectivity is greatly affected by dust on both the mouse and the dock pins. Cleaning the pins and the holes on the VU proved to work, but there are also ‘sweet spots’ where you can position your mouse (usually towards the front of the dock) that it begins to charge. If you don’t mind doing some maintenance to your mouse than this shouldn’t be an issue.
The dock does however come with some rgb that can be useful for displaying battery levels when in use.

Additional note:
I know many people dislike the Synapse software from Razer (I personally don’t really care too much), but you’d be glad to know that the VU has onboard memory. This means that you can set up the mouse on Synapse before uninstalling it and you can use your mouse like a typical Plug and Play device.

Overall: 9/10
The VU is honestly the best mouse I have used so far. It is near perfect for casual and competitive use especially if you can work around/overlook the issues mentioned above. One of the top tier mice right now and I would highly recommend it to anyone, even with so many lightweight wireless (and wired) mice that are on the market in the recent year and a half. I’ve used the VU for almost a year now and actually see myself using it for quite a long time to come.

3.0 out of 5 starsIt's ok
Reviewed in Singapore on 2 November 2021
My main concern with the mouse was that it was wireless and that it had a charging dock, so I'd theoretically never have to plug it in. But previously where the dock stopped working after a few months, I got mine exchanged and it works fine now. However, I don't have high hopes seeing as how it went last time.

A bigger concern would be the shape of the mouse, it is very flat. Where other mice are easy to grip with your hand, the Viper Ultimate basically requires you to use a claw grip. Due to the shape of the mouse, your hand has nowhere to rest without holding the mouse quite far up.

4.0 out of 5 stars CLICK CLICK...but is it Mini?
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 29 December 2021
Size Name: MouseStyle Name: Viper Mini - WiredVerified Purchase
Firstly, its not a mini mouse, its just a normal size mouse, and I'm using the size of a standard office type mouse from Dell as a comparison. You can see from the photos its about the same size as the Dell, but much bigger than the Logitech VX Nano (yes that 12 year old Nano is still working! ok, its not accurate enough for gaming due to the bluetooth connection, but the free spinning wheel is a killer feature)

I actually expected a mouse the same size as the Nano, as that's actually a mini (Nano) mouse, but instead i got a mouse the same size as the Dell.

Good points:
Feet are very low friction.
Accuracy is great (but my brain needs to adjust)
RGB is fun for 10 mins..
Software is extensive (although very large)
Wheel feels nice, not too clicky.
The lack of a rear hump makes it good for Claw or finger style (its big enough for palm style)
All of the buttons are assignable

Bad Points:

Its not Mini...

The L+R button clicks are VERY LOUD. There is no need for this, its a gaming mouse, so you will either have headphones on or speakers blaring out. The other 2 mice are almost silent in comparison...im not sure if ill get use to this...it's just over the top.

The mouse in general is good for gaming, light and has a great shape. Furthermore, the button tactility and response thanks to the laser system is perfection. The sensor however leaves a bit to be desired, the lift off distance is a big issue in my opinion and needs to be addressed in a potential revision. A wireless version with a better sensor similar to the HERO sensor would be amazing.

Everything you read about this mouse that is good , is true and I have fairly big hands and works great for fingertip grip for me :). Customer service was good and on the sellers end aswell.

Edit: After 6 - 7 months of regular use the scroll wheel has broken. When I occasionally scroll up it scrolls down and vice versa which for gaming is insanely irritating. Still a really good mouse for the price. Shame it couldn’t last abit longer.

It is a perfect size for small hands and is very responsive, the only thing is is that the razer synapse software seems to decrease your performance in games, but without it it just changes colours in sequence

4.0 out of 5 stars I love it but ...

So the clicking experience as others have also mentioned is not good. The original one I ordered has extra noises and bad travelling, which is more in right click. The exchange also has the same kind of issue, in addition to being wobbly on a flat surface. I would say my Chinese $20 mouse, or even my old Razer Naga 2014, had better click experience in terms of being firm. Please watch my video to hear the sound. Also, the other thing that caused me to reduce 1 star was because the charging stand lights will go off if you connect it to an external UBS charger, instead of your PC. But even if you do so it still charges the mouse. This could easily be solved by putting a 128kb memory in the charging stand to tell the device to keep the lights on while connected to an external charger. Apart from these 2, it is an amazing mouse with 20 hour battery with polling rate set to 1000 and lights set to 100%. With lights off and polling rate set to 500 you can expect 60-70 hours. No lagging, no delay, no hand fatigue due to being light and of course very beautiful. 4.0 out of 5 stars Ratón básico que funciona bien
Reviewed in Spain on 31 March 2022
Size Name: MouseStyle Name: Viper Mini - WiredVerified Purchase

4.0 out of 5 stars Near Perfect

I was using the Logitech G Pro Wireless before getting this mouse. In the first 8 months my G Pro had the infamous double clicking issue and then after an RMA I started getting the same issue with the new mouse they sent me a year after. I had gotten the GPRO on "sale" for $170...

The Viper Mini (non-8k version) is currently $40. This mouse is wired only which isn't a huge deal for me and because the cable is very flexible and light I don't feel a hinderance to every day use or gaming, might be because I also use a bungee.

Build Quality
Compared to the G Pro ($170) and the Viper Mini I don't feel like the Logitech as significantly better build quality. They are both light and very "plasticy" to the touch. The G Pro has a very soft matte-like finish which I find it to be harder to grip if I have dry hands. The Viper Mini has a more grainy finish. I prefer the feet on the Viper because I find that it provides a better glide. The scroll wheel has a more noticeable "bump" and same goes for the scroll wheel click (mouse 3). I have yet to experience any squeaky or creaking clicks with the Viper Mini.

Performance
I feel as this mouse is equally responsive if not more so than the G Pro. And because my hands are a small it gives me better handling.

Software
The G Hub folder in Program Files is 379MB whereas the Razer is 727MB. I didn't install any of the other software options available. I find that the Razer Synapse software is bloated and has a bunch of unnecessary options. I really hope they provide a lightweight version of it where it can just control DPI, polling and lighting.

One big CON to the Viper Mini is that it claims that it has "one onboard memory" profile but it's a gimmick. It only saves the DPI and I heard it saves the polling rate but I am not 100% certain of that. The lighting and macros do not save which makes this "onboard memory" sort of useless and forces users to use the awful Synapse software.
