Clear ice is the perfect addition to any cocktail or mixed drink. These large cubes are easy to make and I found the inserts easy to remove. Occasionally I have left the maker in the freezer for an extended period of time and still had no issues removing the inserts. I found this ice maker to be a great deal considering the low price.
Works but there was a learning curve & it’s a lot of work & time for two cubes! First three batches didn’t form all the way at the top. Finally figured out to fill it, put it in freezer & then top it off a little. We used filtered water from the refrigerator, boil it in microwave, then let it sit until it’s just warm & then pour it in. The cubes do come out clear.
The product worked as advertised. I own the TrueCubes ice tray and, in comparison, this is a better product. The ice cubes are crystal clear and the process is super friendly. Getting the cubes out of the tray is a snap in comparison to other products. Your cocktails will never look the same after making clear cubes with this.
After years of trying to make clear balls and cubes, using all manner of water and contraptions, turning my freezer into a science experiment to no avail, finally found these. Hot tap water (City water), into the freezer for 30 hours (@0F), and poof, perfectly clear ice. I have two ball molds and one cube mold and never run out of drink ice.
This product works great! I've previously made clear is using the small cooler but to me that is much more tedious. You can get more clear ice in less time but cutting can get a little difficult at times. This setup takes a but longer to build up a good supply but is much easier to get the shape you want. I have this one and the sphere tray so I make 4 in a day.
Works as advertised. Ice is truly crystal clear. They are smaller than they look. And they are a pain because need to be made 24 hours in advance and they apparently can’t be kept in freezer for more than a day or two or they don’t stay clear. Have to plan on advance exactly when you want to use them. They take up a lot of room in freezer too.
