Definitely cover up the smell of sweaty boxing gloves. But they are that strong, when I went to spar an opponent in training there was a comment about being able to taste the minty fresh taste and it also affected the opponent as it was a similar sensation to vicks being rubbed under his eyes causing them to water.
I’d recommend if purchased, try and keep them from touching the outside of your boxing gloves, which would mean having them in a different compartment in your gym bag when you are not using them inside of your gloves as this is what caused my problem.
The scent that comes out of these deodorizers is waaaay too strong. I like how convenient those are, but I would have loved it if there was a version of those without any scent, just to be able to absorb the sweat would work perfectly fine for me. Until then, I'm not putting those into my gloves.
I bought these for my cycling gloves to keep the stink down between washes. They are smaller than you expect, certainly small for boxing or hockey gloves, but very effective and leave the gloves smelling fresh and of cedar trees. \ Sadly, the room doesn't smell as naturally cedar-like as the deodorizers initially have a very strong, very artificial smell to them which permeates through the room. Worth putting them in a boot/mud room or little used room whilst hanging and deodorizing your gloves. Very effective product just not nice to be around whilst they are working. This is the only reason I couldn't give it 5 stars.
I have bought these before, and they had a very strong scent that lasted for weeks. It even made my gym bag smell nice when the gloves were in the bag. I bought the same ones after a few months and the scent didn't even last a week this time and wasn't even noticeable to begin with. I think there's an expiration date on these and I probably got pretty old ones. Was a bit disappointed.
I will update once we have used them for a little while. So far, the smell is so intense and artificial smelling that we have had to hang them outside in hopes that the smell will dissipate. If/when that happens, we can put them to the test in my sons stinky ski mitts.
