As allergy season approaches we stock.up on Puffs. While the Puffs with lotion are a great invention and I like nothing more when I have a head cold, regular Puffs are a must-have. I probably blow my nose 10-12 times a day in allergy season. But more annoyingly, I get eye allergies. That means itchy, watery eyes that tear up and get crusty. Puffs are soft, and also gently clean my glasses without leaving a film. They also don't irritate the skin under my nose, regardless of how many times I have to blow my nose. Even more importantly, they stand up to huge, earthshakingly hard sneezes. When I sneeze, the windows rattle, the walls shake, dogs wail.and babies cry. I have Puffs strategically placed all over the house, and grabbing one, folding it in half and covering my mouth and nose protects the family and keeps me from having to reupholster after every allergy season. Thank goodness allergy season is short!
There is not a whole lot that one expects from a tissue, some softness perhaps, the ability to blow your nose on it and not have it pass through definitely. The Puffs Ultra facial tissues are the best tissues I have run into, definitely heavier than the other Puffs or Kleenex or other variants. They are also reasonably soft. Not scented. Weight is pretty heavy as these things go. And if you forget to take the tissue out of your pocket when washing a garment, these have an above average chance of staying together, not shredding in the clothes washer. So these are not cheap, and there is not a whole lot per box (P&G keeps reducing the count there, assuming that we won't notice it as a price increase, but...), but they are the best generally available tissues.
By far my favorite tissues because you can use one without experiencing a blowout. For some reason these are not easy to find in brick and mortar stores near me. Purchasing through Amazon gives me convenience of delivery along with a lower price per box (buying in bulk).
I have fairly constant sinus issues due to medications I have to take whereas I always have Kleenex’s in my pocket. The one thing I learned in the very beginning was the difference in brands, texture, softness, absorbency in the Kleenex’s. Puffs, bar none, are my favorite, as well as purchasing them from Amazon Prime as I can buy them in bulk with free shipping. I live in a small town and when the pandemic hit the stores, either ran out immediately or limited how many could be purchased. Kleenex’s are like toilet paper, I want absorbent and soft.
The reason these work for me is because I'm perpetually wiping my nose after head cancer treatment. These tissues are super soft and don't chafe my skin. However.... don't be fooled. They are not absorbent. If you threw one of these in your toilet and came back 3 hours later this will still be sitting on top of the water and dry. LOL
These tissues don't scratch your nose and don't need two tissues layered together to blow your nose. But my favorite thing about them is the box. The opening is wide, allowing easy access to the tissues even at the bottom of the box, and I can grab a few still neatly folded in their stack if I need to tuck some in my bag. Oh, and no lotion to slime me. I used to have these on subscribe and save, but they are only available by ordinary order now. At least I can still get them shipped to me.
We prefer Puffs brand over the others because they are absorbent, soft, and dispense properly to the last tissue. Other brands seem to stop dispensing when you get close to empty. You have to dig out the last ones. We use alot of tissue with allergies, and a two story house, so we order them in quantity. They also can be hard to find in the stores.
I love the thick and soft feel of these. My only complaint is that Puffs brand do not “envelope” meaning when you pull one out another does not follow, hence the lower rating. We have to reach into the dispenser every time. Not really a big deal for my husband and I but can’t/don’t want to use them in the dispenser in the guest bathroom.
