If TSA sees this your handle will be thrown away at the security checkpoint. We had traveled through multiple airport TSA checkpoints with this water bottle handle. We were stopped the last time we traveled and the TSA person pointed out that it had a fire starting implement on the buckle and it was not allowed on the plane with us. Bummer we lost it but I’ve since bought a replacement since my kid uses his daily did his water bottle at school.
I do like this product a lot, but I can't screw the lid on securely. I had my flask in bed the other day and I suddenly felt extremely cold wetness- half of the content in my flask was spilled all over the bed. I've tried the "upside-down test" since and I always get a little bit of leakage. I don't know if there's a remedy for this, or if I'm doing it wrong, but if you're extremely worried about it, think about it first.
Handle works great and is really cute. The compass is useless but I guess that to be expected for the price. I’d personally prefer it were just not there than to be there and not work. Otherwise I recommend this product as a handle.
Love this item and was excited to see all the extra things on it. Ordered 2 one for me and one for my daughter. Both of our compasses don't work. North is showing where East is so if your counting on it working....it won't. A bit disappointed and kind of a waste. Otherwise the handle is great and beautiful.
I bought this knowing ahead of time it was not yeti compatible but I wanted to try my luck. It is not compatible the way it comes with the plastic ring, even leaving it in hot water it is not malleable enough to fit over a yeti rambler BUT
I went ahead and cut off the plastic ring using some pliers and left everything the same. The string will fit over and you can pull it snug. It will stay if you use a chug cap or anything with an exposed rim. It will slip with enough force but I went ahead and hotglued the pull string to a snug length and shook it around and it does not fall. I have a 36oz Rambler for reference with a chug cap.
Obviously results may vary so it's a risk you'll have to take if you want to try it with a yeti. It works for me but I can't say it'll be a foolproof plan. Best of luck everyone!
Fits perfectly on my water bottle, and holds tight once it's on. I was (pleasantly) surprised to find the firestarter hidden in the buckle.
The customer service was also very good, which I quite approve of.
The only small flaw I find with this is that the ends of the paracord strands seem to be fused in place, so the pararcord is harder to be used in an emergency. Not impossible, but a little more difficult.
Other than that, an excellent handle! Highly approved here.
I hastily purchased this cord hoping it would fit my swig life bottle. This bottle has a "lip" as requried for a true fit, unfprtunatly this was not enough of a "lip". So I measured the diameter and ordered a rubber O ring to fit to size. Now holds sturdy.
I ordered 3 of these.. One for my husband, my sons and my self. I love the look of these especially on our bottles (slm) HOWEVER.. I rated this 3 stars instead of 5 for 2 reasons. Its a little complicated to put on and the directions are hard to understand. Secondly, this paracord unfortunately does not fit my sons 12oz bottle like the description says it would.
I have several of these now for our hydroflasks, makes it so much easier to drag around with us. My son takes them to all his sporting games. The carabiner has broken on most of them, which is kind of a bummer- that’s the only reason I’m not giving 5 stars.
