To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we do not use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
This book is terribly written with many typos and grammatical errors. Further, its concepts are poorly described, offering less than half thoughts on any given topic. I would not recommend this book and intend on using it to light my fire pit.
This book did not tell me anything most people don't already know. Compliments are good, do not judge people, listen to what they are saying, tell them a false assumption you have about them and have them correct you (which can easily make you look dumb, like a liar, or both), be prepared for typical small talk questions in advance, etc. Huge typeface and margins. The entire book could be summarized in one page. What a waste.
Half way through this book, and I would rather stab myself in the eye with a salad fork. Obvious, cringey, and if you think Chad who's super into networking at your companies holiday party is totally annoying, you will not be any more excited about small talk by reading this.
I am convinced The person who wrote this book has NEVER had a real conversation in his life. This was some of the most absurd stuff I have ever read in my life. I am a pretty good conversationalist and was just looking to increase some sales skills and this was mind numbing. Horrible book I could not finish it
There are some helpful bits but you have to overlook the fact that it does not appear to have been professionally edited. Like, at all. He also sounds like a frat boy who I would avidly dislike in person.
Maybe not earth shattering but great thought provoking look at communication full of ideas to make it deeper and more fulfilling. Sometimes the ideas just help to make it more fun for you. At the end there are some don't be a dick life lessons that I thought everyone should read. Ok maybe I had a few people in mind in particular. ;)
