There is no disputing that each time you flip up the trash-bin lid the lovely scent makes you smile. However, I have to deduct two stars for the Glad claim, "DRAWSTRING TRASH BAG: The drawstring closure ensures a tight grip on trash cans and makes for a simple removal with a quick cinch of the durable drawstring".
Perhaps I'm missing the how-to on getting the bag to secure around the lip of the trash bin. I cannot see how the drawstring is an advantage in staying securely around the container. When you pull the string it just withdraws or lays slack. I'll wait for any feedback on how this is supposed to work. I can't figure it out. Sure, you can sinch the entire bag together once you remove it and get ready to throw it out but, prior to that I just don't see it.
These fit a tall kitchen garbage can perfectly. They are strong enough that you don’t have to worry about them tearing when you fill them up. I found them to be a good value compared with similar bags from both premium and generic manufacturers. Overall I am satisfied with them with only one complaint. The bags come in a continuous roll and the perforation between bags isn’t very well done so they are difficult to separate. I’m not sure why they made them like this, but it’s frustrating enough that I took a star off for it. Aside from that I’m pretty pleased with my purchase.
These bags are durable, have a quality drawstring, and fit well in cans. However as some other reviewers have noted, the scent can be extremely overpowering. I think as we have got closer to the center of the roll the scent has become stronger, which is very distracting in an "open" can without a lid. I'm looking for unscented alternatives but wanted to let other people know to avoid these if you're sensitive to strong fragrances.
I accidentally ordered Fresh scented bags and decided to use it anyway. How bad could it be? The odor is way too strong. I can smell a single bag in my room from downstairs. Even after removing the bag the smell has filled half of the house. They are good quality, but I don't think I can survive 80 bags of this overpowered odor. I'm tempted to cut my loss and throw the whole box away even though it cost me $14. I've been airing out my house for the past 20 minutes.
The bags are really good for what's needed, but they are incredibly hard to seperate & tear apart from one from another. Moreso if you have arthritic fingers & hands. I don't understand why GLAD cannot package these like they do the larger sizes where they just roll off one at a time out of the box unconnected instead of having to tear them apart. I've always been a loyal customer of GLAD, but I'll have to say, I'm disappointed in this purchase. I'll use this box, but look elsewhere for medium size garbage bags my next subscribe & save order or, if need be, I'll order them as I need them as long as I don't have to struggle to get one out of the box, bag or however they may come.
Acceptable trash bags for medium size cans, nice taupe edge, pleasanter to look at than garish yellow. Could certainly be thicker. But delighted to finally find a medium drawstring bag even if it’s just thick enough. . The box is insufficiently durable. And since the bags separate along perforations, pulling one out stresses the box. I generally wind up double bagging the trash, using a slightly thicker non drawstring bag from Target. This gives me reasonable assurance the trash won’t spill out. I use these bags for kitchen waste, which is why I’d like them thicker. I have no wish for a larger trash can, as it would dominate my space unacceptably. Come on, Glad, make something even better.
These bags are pretty good. I use them for my recycling trash can, which typically doesn’t have a lot of heavy items, so these work fine. As some other reviews have mentioned, these are thinner, I.e. flimsier, than other Glad trash bags and easily tear if you tighten the draw string. They still work for me because I am not carrying heavy items, but I would absolutely NOT use for my regular trash. Likely won’t buy again.
I guess I’m one of the few people who does not like the new design with drawstring. I don’t like that it leaves a hole opening at the top of the bag. The flap handles made a tight closure. I also really don’t like the perforated attachment of all the bags. They are difficult to get out of the box and don’t tear off easily. I have to search for a new brand to buy.
Liked the product because it fit well on my under-counter pullout garbage can. However, I needed to support the weight of the garbage after removing it from the can because I could feel the bag was stretching. So will look for a thicker/heftier bag. Also, the pulls to close the bag after removable have broken numerous times.
