Not exactly what I had in mind. I have close-set teeth, minimal gap between. Most floss breaks during use, was looking for a stronger product. This floss doesn’t break quite as easily, but it does shred, sometimes leaving pieces of shred stuck between the teeth. Then have to get a new strand to get the old shred out. Time-consuming and a real frustration. Guess I’ll keep looking for something better. Cinnamon flavor is nice though.
Edit: I no longer like this product. In the question section, someone asked where it is made and the seller answered in China, but the box says it’s made in Colombia. I contacted them and asked where they made the floss, and they didn’t say where and instead, they asked me to send a picture of the box where it says that it’s made in Colombia. What?! They don’t what’s in its own product? I just don’t trust it anymore 😞
Years ago I was looking for a cruelty free and vegan dental floss, and after trying several, I liked Cocofloss and kept using it. I was about to buy a new one when I realized how expensive it is! So I started looking for another one and found this one. So happy I did! Equally good, actually I think this mint tastes better, and the best part, is eco-friendly and socially responsible. And without the ridiculous high price!
I bought this floss because I needed more, and this one comes at a good price for what you get. The packaging and product is more environmentally friendly than traditional floss.
The floss itself is good - thinly waxed and strong. It is composed of multiple strands, so if you use it a specific way the strands will split a little. That said, in instances where that happens with this floss, other flosses will snap and break. This floss is exceptionally strong - I have yet to break it into two pieces completely.
My only slight criticism is that the flavor is not very strong. I don't view this is a con - I want my floss to clean my teeth, and it doesn't really need to refresh my breath like my toothpaste does. Your personal taste in floss may be different.
If you’re wondering if it shreds or is too difficult to use the answer is: no! Both my husband and I love this product (and he is skeptical about my “green” products). I have right teeth- so much that my dentist jokes for my to get braces- and this works well. The only place this shreds is on my front crown that shreds all floss I’ve ever used. Great product and wonderful packaging.
My teeth have tight contacts so I have trouble with floss holding up, especially eco or natural flosses which tend to shred. I end up trying a new one, getting frustrated, and going back to the plastic coated ribbon style floss. This one handles my teeth just fine! I like the paper box and packaging. It’s overall a nice floss. It’s not strongly flavored or scented, just nice. The wax coating is natural but the packaging doesn’t say what the floss itself is made of so I knocked off one star for that.
I hesitated buying this due to the reviews saying it breaks easily. But when I tried it on the area of my mouth that has tight contacts, I was happy with the performance - where other brands/types got stuck and shredded, this floss worked even better. (sure, with some fraying, but I expected that). I am trying hard to buy alternative packaging and products that help reduce my family's impact on the environment and this one was an excellent choice -- and not ridiculously expensive as other brands could be.
However - manufacturers take note -- I would still like to find a floss that comes in a really big quantity (with recyclable packaging). I don't need these little packages!
Ok, this is not the BEST floss. It definitely doesn't glide as easy as Oral-b, but you know what? I'll take this natural floss over teflon-floss any day. Packaging is cute but could use a little work, perhaps thicker/sturdier paper at the top that doesn't rip as easily.
I really like the idea of eliminating wasteful plastic, so thought I would give this a try. The floss itself is great! Not too thick, enough coating and flavor, pretty much my Goldilocks for floss. Downside is that the packaging is not perfected. The metal piece for cutting the floss is too much for the thin cardboard, which has ripped. It's kind of annoying to get the product out now. On the other hand, it's NOT plastic.
I’m all for environmentally friendly packaging but this is a joke. Fell apart in my hands as soon as I opened it and the floss roll out and bounced into the toilet.... sigh. I bought a 4-pack, so I was still able to test the non-toilet-tainted floss - it immediately shreds and gets caught between my teeth, leaving shreds of floss trapped in there which I have to then try to floss out... yikes. “Humble” is a great euphemism for “poor quality”. I’m gunna use that lol....
Love the idea all floss should be in cardboard, but I do find the floss shreds a little when I use It (my teeth are very tight). Haven’t found an alternative I like better yet, but I do think this could be improved upon.
