There is no flash for the camera!

You know what you get when you assume something? A modern-day tablet from a company like Samsung with a camera that doesn't even have a basic flash. I originally thought this tablet was just okay for the price but when I took it out one day to photograph potential wedding venues for our daughter and discovered it doesn't even have a flash, I quickly realized I need to slide this whole thing under the microscope and see just what else is wrong with it. So that's what I'll be doing the next few days before the return period expires. I thought Samsung was a pretty safe bet but my opinion about them has been changed.

Originally purchased for offline mapping of UTV trails and it remains to be seen whether it's actually up to that task. But the omission of a simple flash for the camera has me skeptical about the entire unit.

Update after a few months of it sitting in the box: I should have returned this when I had the chance. I doubt I've used this a total of 24 hours, It's slow and the touchscreen is often unresponsive, like its lost its mind. GPS is worthless in a vehicle. Now I've learned it also does not have a magnetometer sensor. So no magnetic north sensor for a simple compass app. I'll likely give it to a kid for a toy. I've seen 10 dollar disposable cameras that have a functional flash. Hard to believe they're still selling these tablets.

This tablet wouldn't charge after only 3 months. Sent to Futuretel for warranty and sent back unrepaired saying it was not released by Samsung for the Canadian market and did not qualifyfor inwarranty work in Canada . Recommended to contact seller, Amazon.

This item purchased from Amazon failed within the warranty period. I had purchased the extended warranty from Asurion , but because it failed within the firstyear of warranty , I was drop kicked back to Samsung to reolve . After several hours on the telephone and a wasted trip to an "Authorized" repair center with no results , Samsung finally said they do not support any products purchased thru Amazon as they are considered a THIRD PARTY. Fortunately i was able to get Asurion to repair it after waiting for the 367TH day after purchase to talk to them .

This tablet computer lacks several features that were present on my older Galaxy Tab A 10.1:

1. The new tablet lacks a hard Home button. This is inconvenient because I use the tablet for running Garmin Pilot software. Having a hard Home button is easier to use while flying that the soft button.

2. On my old tablet I was able to move apps from internal storage to an SD card, thus saving internal storage space. The new tablet does not allow for moving apps to an SD card. Very disappointed.

Had I known about these problems before I bought the new tablet, I would not have purchased it.

I tried using the tablet today while flying. I use the Garmin Pilot app for navigation and flight information. The display did not show all of the information provided by the app. For example, it failed to display the "Direct To" icon. This makes the tablet almost useless when used for running the Pilot app.

This afternoon, I contacted Amazon and asked for a refund. I returned the tablet computer to a local Amazon site.

Regrettably, the tablet proved almost worthless in light of the use for which it was purchased.

I purchased this computer and I only use about 2 hours at nighttime... For some reason I turned it on tonight to play my solitaire....and it won't open up to any screen like it is completely dead.... I have tired charging it and it won't show it is working at all.... it hasn't been the greatest because it said it would hold a lot and I even put a bigger sd card in and still wouldn't take anything.... I had to take almost all my apps off and the one I really liked telegram but this won't let me keep nothing.... I would not recommend it to no one and never would I ever get a small one again....I think I am due a refund.... Geri Legg

Pretty tablet. The tablet did not work more than 3 months. It would not hold a charge. I would have sent it back sooner but after my daughter had Covid she had no desire to play it. When she did play it is was very slow. After 6 months I decided to call the manufacturer and when the ticket was created it said out of warranty. I asked why because the tablet is 6 months old there is a one year warranty. The manufacturer then asked for my credit card information which I refused to give them. They could not tell me why it was the ticket was out of warranty when they haven’t even looked at the tablet yet. So from the company if anything is wrong they will automatically say it is out warranty and they will make you pay to replace it.

Only use it to stream shows, somehow it can't even do that. Go through trouble shooting and it doesn't help. Touchscreen is poor quality too, doesn't work well. Never buying anything android again.

I searched every inch of both the packaging and the booklets and not one word of what the release date was. (The site promised it was a 2021 release date). Until it was fully installed there was no way to access Settings to check the release date---but I knew it was 2019 because it said so AS it was installing. Then finding out to wipe the tablet clean of my info was well hidden. WHY go out of their way to purposely lie about the release date in big print if they know they are going to send you an already obsolete piece of junk. I guess they are banking on people knowing what that actually means. Getting pretty fed up with Amazon.

What is wrong with Amazon right now...got a Samsung tab A...liked the device...downloaded the Kindle app and i don't know what you have done or not done but it is terrible...My Library continues to disappear and nothing brings it back...downloading books from a site other then amazon is impossible...i am so disappointed in the Kindle app...am looking for an alter app that does the same thing...thought it was the device and sent it back...have a replacement coming Wed...hope i have better luck...but since i read the reviews and discovered it is the Kindle app and not the device...i don't expect much...come on Amazon...you are better then this...give us a fix...........
