I Had An Issue Initially, But After The Fix, It's Been Perfect!

The installation of this was a breeze! Basically, remove your old doorbell, wire this doorbell to your original doorbell wiring, wire a fuse to your doorbell chime connections inside the house, done!

Obviously, follow the actual steps that Wyze has for installation, but installing this was definitely simple if you're installing this where you're current doorbell is located. In the Wyze app, when you select "add new device", you can select this doorbell for setup, and it will then guide you through the entire setup process for installing, and also for connecting the doorbell to the app.

Once I installed the doorbell, and set it up with the app, it worked great for the first 24 hours or so until going offline. Pressing the doorbell manually didn't work either. Resetting the wi-fi didn't fix the doorbell, but resetting power to the device (flipping the breaker for the doorbell power) DID work! After a few days of flipping the breaker whenever it went offline, I found a fix for this issue. Using a toggle switch in-line with the fuse at the doorbell chime (inside the house), I was able to toggle the device off/on without having to reset the breaker to the doorbell. After using this toggle switch to reset the device a few nights in a row (after it would go offline), it stopped having this issue entirely. I probably could have contacted their support and figured out a different fix for the issue, but this worked for me.

After fixing the issue I mentioned above, this doorbell has been working great! I really enjoy the video quality, and the Wyze app is smooth, and easy to use. The doorbell chime is loud, and has different sound options, which I think is a nice feature as well!

Overall, for the price compared to other video doorbell systems, this Wyze doorbell seems to be a great buy! I'd definitely recommend this to anyone looking to stay under the price of some of the other competitors out there.

I purchased this to go with the rest of my wyze camera ecosystem. Overall, I enjoy it. Was easy to install myself and get paired. My only gripe is that it doesn’t seem to pick up lateral motion as well as my traditional wyze cameras. So if someone isn’t walking right up to the camera in front of it, it isn’t picking it up for some reason. Also, despite having the pro subscription it doesn’t record very long.

Easy set up. First time installing a doorbell camera and it took just about 20 minutes. I would recommend watching a youtube video for instructions. I did have trouble at the part where you need to have the camera scan the QR code off my phone, but it was because of the glare on the screen. Works as intended!

The motion detection is awesome ! even a mosquito set it off flying by it.
only down side is half the time I answer the door before the app sends me a notice someone is there. so if i wasnt home the visitor might leave before I answered on the app. :(

The instructions don't tell you that you need to replace your old transformer with one specifically for video doorbells. Also, I found the app hard to use, with no explanations of how to use it. Even though I lowered the motion detection sensitivity, it still kept taking pics. That said, the camera's pictures are bright and clear and give an excellent view of area. Love the wedge, as our doorbell is perpendicular to the door.

Installation was easy. Only tweak was ignoring the little wires they provided to connect to existing doorbell wires. Not sure where Wyze thinks the wire nuts would go- the hole in the door trim is 1/4”. Just enough for wire.

Set-up is same as for other Wyze products so that was easy. I have the multi-device Cam-Plus subscription so I get additional storage and AI features.

Chime is loud even on lower settings. Can’t imagine using highest setting unless you have a 10k sq ft house.

No complaints except when the camera detects motion, it only captures about 10 seconds and then the video cuts off. If someone is at your door for longer than 10 seconds, you’re unable to go back and see the full clip. Also you aren’t able to go back to see clips from the whole day EXCEPT the video clips there were recorded when it detects motion or when the doorbell has been rung. Not a huge deal. Still good price, easy installation, good quality videos. Happy with the purchase

1. The connector screws for your power cables are so shallow I was not able to use my existing copper wires; the screws simply would not tighten. I used the flat/fork connectors provided by them and they barely fit and they are pretty flimsy. I ended up using longer screws from my existing door bell; they are about twice as long and they worked well
2. The install back plate is very thin plastic and not strong. If someone pulled the unit it would probably get pulled right off. Also once you click your unit onto the back plate I am not sure if there is a way to uninstall it other than breaking it off. You better get it right the first time; level it first.
3. My existing door bell was sideways as the siding on the house is also sideways therefore, it was not ideal to install this doorbell vertically. There is no way to install the doorbell sideways as you are not able to rotate the picture digitally; also your picture ratio does not work well if you install it sideways.
4. Picture quality is excellent; wish the unit would take a memory card; I am not a fan of extra paid service for cloud viewing extended video.
