Very old remote replaced by this little beauty!!!

I bought this for a friend’s fan. I stayed with her recently due to a broken ankle and while I was hanging out on her couch wishing the remote for her very old ceiling fan would work (since the AC was NOT) I decided to try searching Amazon. When I found this remote that looked exactly like her old one, I took a chance! By the time it arrived, I had done enough reading to know there were 4 little switches inside the remote amd I used a metal nail file to pull one of them down to match the configuration inside her old remote. It didn’t work!😩 She had given me a ‘new’ battery to put in the old remote and I decided to see if there was another 9 volt in her kitchen drawer, which there was. Put that one in and VOILA!!! A fan that had not been able to be used for years working in the blink of an eye!!! A little red ‘eye’ on the new remote!!! She was amazed. A guy at Home Depot had told her she would never find another remote!! Has he not heard of Amazon??!!

Most of the fans in our house had to be installed with wireless switches because the house wasn't originally wired for ceiling fans. These then work the same way so you can keep the remote by your desk, bed, couch, etc. for easy control.
Setup was insanely easy as long as you can find the correct PIN switch combination of your current switch. I mounted the wall mount using Command Strips to avoid putting holes in the wall. Works perfectly.

The original wouldn't work in most of the areas in my room and it was frustrating, probably why I needed a new remote, but the new one works everywhere. Had no problem following instructions provided to link the fan to the remote. This remote was replacing a remote which was dropped and broken.

One caution - be sure to make sure the pin setting in the remote matches the pin in the fan receiver. The pin setting in my broken remote did not match the fan receiving unit.

Although the chances are strong that the original equipment manufacturer used a similar, low-cost, subcontractor to product the OEM remote, this new remote looks exactly the same on the outside (save for the fan maker's name plastered on it) and actually looks better put together on the inside... So far pleased with the purchase.
