DON'T BUY THIS LAPTOP! - Please read Explanation

This laptop does not come from amazon or HP, it comes from "Amazing Warehouse" (obviously trying to look like "Amazon Warehouse" at a glance), and here is why that is important: When laptops are sold by smaller companies such as these, the companies often make modifications to the laptops (e.g, for this laptop, the company modified the SD card to be a 1T card instead of a 512GB card, which the laptop is originally sold with). Why is this important? It all has to do with the warranty. When smaller companies make these modifications, any future problems with the laptop are classified under the "accidental damage" category even if you performed no accidental damage. For example, if one day your laptop suddenly won't turn on, and you try to use your manufacturer's warranty to get it repaired at HP (because Amazing Warehouse doesn't do repairs), you will not be covered by your warranty because the modifications made by Amazing Warehouse will classify your laptop's issue as "accidental damage" instead of a manufacturing error even though you never gave it accidental damage. Furthermore, the small company like Amazing Warehouse can not be liable for the "accidental damage" the laptop incurred while you owned it even if the "accidental damage" was caused by them. In other words, you'll be SOL.

Buy this laptop directly from HP, Amazon (Amazing Warehouse is NOT amazon), Costco, or other trusted companies, this way you can trust that you won't have warranty problems in the future.

I purchased this in March. Right away, the unit was going to sleep an I could only wake it by using the power button to turn it off and on; a 5-star HP tech fixed that. A couple of weks ago it started freezing and turning off. After several hours on a bad phone connection, they decided to send me a USB recovery drive, which wiped Windows and all the applications. After doing that and reloading the apps, it started again. This time it was shutting down because of Windows errors. Finally, Microsoft told me that it was no-doubt a hardware issue, but showed me how to reload Windows 11 in a way that would keep my files and apps in place. Told me that should fix it, unless it is a hardware issue. Didn't work. I leave for an hour, come back, and it's re-booted. I'm a small business man that relies 100% on my computer. HP's solution is to send me a postage-paid box for me to pack the computer and send back to them so they can repair it. Meantime, I'm left without a way to communicate with and service my customers. I used to use HP inkjet printers. They were good for about a year before dying. I'm through with HP. Bought myself a nice Lenovo for a great price at Costco today. Anybody wants a doorstop - you can have one - just pay the postage

It was running smooth for the first month or so I had it, and then randomly after booting up a certain steam game it would always randomly turn off the screen and leave the actual computer on. I couldn't turn the screen back on I had to restart the whole laptop. It would happen about 3 times per actual game playing session. And then I noticed it was way slower when booting up after not being used for a while. It would sit on desktop and take 3 minutes to open either Spotify, steam, google, or anything. And today it gave me the blue screen of death. I never downloaded anything fishy, just steam games Spotify and then I browsed YouTube every now and then. I remember buying a laptop from bestbuy like 3 years ago for 400$ cad and it was almost as fast as this laptop which is 1400& cad. I mean the laptop worked again after I restarted it a few times, which is good. It still sorta works. But who knows how much worse it will get over time. Might just return it instead of getting a tech guy to fix it if I can.

Don’t Buy from HP. After a few weeks of owning the laptop I got a software hard drive error. It was under warranty still. I tried their steps as they asked me to even sent it in to get it repaired only to be told it’s not under warranty, and they asked me to pay another $500+ to repair it.

I don't recommend this computer. I am having lots of issues with connecting to WiFi at my house. The old computers located in the same area as this new laptop are connecting as expected. I work in a hybrid role, and I need this laptop to be able to connect to WiFi wherever I am.

I guess I'm going to have to take this to the shop since I'm outside the return period. Do not buy this computer from this seller.

You have been warned.
